AccuPOS Retail Point Of Terminal Setting Setup Guide
Point Of Sale hardware may be different from one station to another, therefore must be setup on each Point Of Sale terminal separately. If you have more then one POS station, repeat these steps on every station.
Remember, any changes you make to terminal settings will not take effect unless you quit and restart the Point Of Sale.
Only enter settings for hardware that is actually connected to the PC. Setting hardware that does not exist on the station will prevent AccuPOS from working correctly.
Enter Terminal Setting – From each Point Of Sale computer, open AccuPOS Retail Point Of Sale and enter a user password that has permission to Change System Settings (“apadmin” by default) followed by Enter. Once an administrative password is entered, hold Ctl + Alt + S to enter terminal settings.
Set Database Path
Single station setup – If you intend on using AccuPOS POS and Management on one computer, the database path should already be set from the accounting initial setup guide. If not, follow these steps. 1. Click on Database Path 2. Browse to C:\Program Files\Attitude POSitive 3. Highlight AccuPOS and click Open 4. Click OK
Multiple stations setup– If you intend on using AccuPOS on multiple computers (multi user serial number required) follow these steps. 1. Click on Database Path (click to browse). 2. Browse to the folder you shared during the initial setup (example \\Server\POS Data\) 3. Highlight the AccuPOS and click Open. 4. Click OK.
AccuPOS Retail support staff does not support creating networks and sharing folders. Please consult with your network administrator for all network issues.
Set Receipt Printer
AccuPOS Retail version 7 and newer has the ability to print receipts either by using the printer driver or by printing directly to the printer. To print using a printer driver the printer and the printer driver must support graphics. Receipt printers that use a Serial connection will not work with printer drivers.
The advantages of using the printer driver are.
1. Control the font. 2. Print Logo on the receipt header. 3. Support printers that use a USB connection.
To print directly to the printer the printer must be serial or parallel only, USB printers will not work.
The advantages of printing directly to the printer.
1. Start printing the receipts as items are being sold (maximum speed). 2. Support printers that use a Serial connection.
To Print Using A Driver – Before AccuPOS can print receipts using the driver, the printer driver must be installed first. Once the printer driver is configured, follow these steps. 1. Click on the Driver button. 2. Select the driver for the receipt printer. 3. Click OK.
4. Once you click OK, the font type and size will appear. 5. Select the font type and size that will be used on the receipts. We recommend using font size 10-11. Larger font size may cause alignment issues. 6. Click OK.
Print Directly To The Printer – Before AccuPOS can print receipts directly to the printer, a text generic printer driver needs to be installed. Once the driver is configured, just specify the port the printer is connected to.
Set Logo Path – Only if you are printing receipts using the printer driver, you can print an image at the begging of every transaction. The image must be a BMP file type, and can be located and shared with other POS stations on the network.
Set Cash Drawer Port – Whenever a receipt printer and a cash drawer combination are used at the Point Of Sale, the cash drawer is "Printer Driven", meaning that the cash drawer is connected to the back of the printer. If you have a printer driven cash drawer (it has a phone cable coming out of the back of drawer) connect the cash drawer cable to the back of the printer.
If you using a printer driver to print receipts, the cash drawer port will automatically populate with the printer driver name. No action is required.
If you are printing directly to the printer, just enter the port name the same way you did for the printer.
Set Scale Port and Type – When using a produce scale (scale that is connected directly to the PC) specify the serial port that the scale is connected to (Example COM1). If you are using a scanner/scale combination, select the Magellan SC from the pull down. If you are using a CAS or NCI stand alone scale, choose CAS from the pull down.
NOTE: These instructions are based on a scale that is supported by AccuPOS Retail. Other scales may be of a different Type and we cannot guarantee functionality with AccuPOS Retail.
Set Customer Display Port – Specify the Com Port that the customer pole display is connected to. Then select the type of emulation the display is compatible with. If the display was purchased from Attitude POSitive, use AEDEX as the type.
Set Cash Drawer and Paper Cutter Codes – The printer, depending on the make and model determines the codes to open the cash drawer and cut the paper. If you are not using a Star printer, please contact your printer manufacturer for the cash drawer and paper cutter codes.
If you are using a Star printer, enter 1 in the Cash Drawer Codes Count and 7 in the first Codes box. If your Star printer is equipped with a paper cutter, enter 3 in the Paper Cutter Codes and 27 in the first Codes box and 100 in the second.
Set Welcome Message – The welcome message to be shown through the customer display while the station is idle. You may use up to 20 characters per line.
Set Seconds to Wait – Specify the number of seconds you would like AccuPOS to wait after the transaction is completed (displays the change) before it starts displaying the Welcome Message. |
